Brian Boru’s March is one of the oldest known Irish melodies. The tune has become a staple of Celtic music and is still widely played by traditional musiciens, as well as having been recorded by The Chieftains, Horslips, Alan Stivell, Cecile Corbel and Loreena McKennitt. Brian Boru was a High King of Ireland in the 10th and 11th centuries, and founded the O’Brien dynasty.
