Five senior flutists from Traver’sons (the amateur orchestra mentored by Ensemble Traversées) have been invited to perform a concert at “Médicis” retirement home. They have prepared a musical voyage around the world for the occasion.

A flute and harp duo, but a very un-classical evening. Full of surprises, Traversées brings their audience into journeys across styles, centuries, cultures and continents.

Myriam Darmé (flute) and Maia Darmé (harp) are two outstanding virtuosos, who pen the arrangements of most of the pieces they perform. Between the two of them, they play up to 35 instruments in concert.

Traversée fantastique is a pedagogical musical show for 4 to 12 years-old children. Brought to life by a narrator-actor and two musicians-actors, the tale is peppered with short and stylistically varied musical extracts performed on 12 different flutes and 3 harps.

Follow in the footsteps of Harry, a little apprentice who travels the world in search of his master Curupira. Could someone help him fix and learn how to use the mysterious musical instrument that Curupira left behind.

Harkan is a unique band, bringing together Tunisian kanun (oriental zither) virtuoso Mohamed-Amine Kalai, French classical harpist Maia Darme, and Iranian Kurd percussionist Ebrahim Ahmadi (daf, dayereh, dahol and bendir).

Harkan’s concerts include contemporary creations as well as music from all around the Mediterranean: Turkish, North African, Levantine, Hispano-Andalusian, Italian, French and Greek. As the rhythm builds up, lively dances follow languorous pieces.

Acclaimed musicians Myriam Darmé, Frank Vassallucci and Maia Darmé form a unique flute, bassoon and harp trio.

From renaissance music to movie soundtracks through folk melodies, they make a strong case for the versatility of their instruments (two bassoons, three harps and twenty different flutes!). Classical masterpieces round up their repertoire, with the likes of Bach, Berlioz, Massenet, Jolivet and Bizet.
