Frank Vassallucci holds Music degrees in Bassoon Performance, Chamber Music and Musicology from the conservatoires of Marseille, Rueil Malmaison and Paris. Ranked first at the entrance audition for the famed Paris superior conservatoire (CNSMDP), he concluded his post graduate studies there with a First Prize in Bassoon in 1995 and in Chamber Music the following year.

Having decided to focus on teaching his instrument, he earned his graduate diploma in music education (Diplôme d’Etat de Professeur de Musique) in 1993. He then received his Certificat d’Aptitude (France’s highest teaching diploma) in 2001, after following the pedagogy curriculum of the Paris superior conservatoire for two years. Frank is regularly invited to give masterclasses and serve as jury member at auditions and international competitions.

After performing extensively within the most recognized French orchestras (Orchestre National de France, Opéra de Paris, Orchestre des Pays de la Loire, Capitole de Toulouse, Orchestre d’Ile de France, Orchestre de Marseille…), he was appointed solo bassoon of the Limoges Opera Orchestra in 2000. He is the Deputy Director and teaches bassoon, contrabassoon and baroque bassoon at the Regional Conservatory of Limoges.
