Invited by Ensemble Travers\u00e9es, Carlos Parada will offer a solo saxophone + electronic concert in the form of a journey through Latin rhythms, from southern Argentina to the Caribbean.<\/p>\n\n

Carlos Parada is a Colombian saxophonist and clarinetist who excels in Latin music as well as jazz and classical music. He is currently Principal Clarinet and Saxophone of the C\u00facuta Orchestra and Principal Clarinet and Soloist of the Sistema P\u00e9dagogique Orchestral Symphony Orchestra. He has previously served as Principal Clarinet of the Antioquia Symphony Orchestra, was a co-founding member of the Medell\u00edn Clarinet Quartet, and taught clarinet at the University of Antioquia.<\/p>\n\n

In the jazz world, he is a saxophonist with the groups Chato Pelayo (Mexico) and Siguarajazz (Colombia). In Latin music, he performs as a saxophonist with various renowned groups in Colombia, including Grupo Caneo, La Tropibanda, and Banda la Bocana. In Mexico, he is a member of the Latin orchestras Zonarika (“Los Reyes del Merengue”), Hjalmar el Mayor, and Salsa Inn, with whom he has recorded numerous albums. He regularly gives solo and electronic saxophone concerts throughout Colombia, Mexico, and Spain.<\/p>\n\n
